Based on the March 19th, 2020 announcement from CMS delaying the implementation of MDS 3.0 v1.18.1, there is no change in how or what the Nursing Homes should be reporting from September 30, 2020 to October 1, 2020. Section G is not being eliminated effective 10/1/2020 as was originally planned, so Nursing Homes should continue reporting MDS data consistent with current practice. CMS has not announced a “new” date for the discontinuation of Section G, so until further notice is given from CMS, the Department is maintaining the current CMS reporting methodology.
