Author: Jackie Pappalardi Lisa Volk and Tarrah Quinlan* Published in Clinical & Quality

NYSDOH provided updated information on the MOU recently distributed to a select group of providers who dually enrolled in both the Federal Pharmacy Partnership for LTC Vaccination Program and the New York State COVID-19 Vaccination Program. The MOU was sent to those providers to ensure safe distribution and administration of the COVID-19 vaccine.

If the provider who received this MOU feels they cannot adhere to the criteria set forth in the MOU, the provider should note on the MOU: “Unable to Commit” and return the MOU UNSIGNED to the email address listed on the bottom of the MOU: Health.sm.Covid19VaccineMOU@health.ny.gov

Update on the COVID Vaccine Tracker Survey

Author: Jackie Pappalardi Lisa Volk and Tarrah Quinlan* Published in Clinical & Quality

NYSDOH has provided clarification on completing the COVID Vaccine Tracker survey. The COVID Vaccine Tracker Survey will track the COVID vaccine that has been shipped to the facility and administered by the facility. At this time, facilities should complete the survey and insert “zeros” (0) in spaces pertaining to the vaccines currently distributed and administered by CVS/ Walgreens.

The COVID Vaccine Tracker Survey is not meant to track vaccine doses administered by a LTC Pharmacy Partner.

The Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) Survey

Author: Lisa Volk and Tarrah Quinlan* Published in Clinical & Quality

The Center for Health Workforce Studies (CHWS) at the School of Public Health, University at Albany monitors annual health care employment trends in the state of New York and issues a report of its findings each year. Our most recent report, The Health Care Workforce in New York, 2018-2019: Trends in the Supply and Demand for Health Workers can be found on our website at www.chwsny.org  .

CHWS is conducting their annual survey to gather information on health workforce employment. The primary purpose of this brief survey is to better understand the current recruitment and retention problems faced by nursing homes and adult care facilities, including assisted living facilities.

CHWS worked with LeadingAge, New York State Health Facility Association (NYSHFA), the New York Center for Assisted Living (NYSCAL), and Continuing Care Leadership Coalition to ensure that the questions asked in this survey reflect issues currently relevant to you.

All individual answers are confidential and reported only in the aggregate, which means no personal or agency information will be reported.

Please click on the link to access the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RRSurveyNursingHome

CHWS would appreciate your response by January 15, 2021.

If you have any questions, please call or e-mail Kris Stiegler at 518-402-0250 or kstiegler@albany.edu

Thank you for your support of this important study.
