COVID-19 Guidance Compilation for Long-Term Care

New York State Department of Health released a resource list of guidance by specific topics related to the COVID-19 pandemic response. This list will be updated to reflect new guidance as necessary. As a reminder, all advisories and informational messages are distributed through the Integrated Health Alerting Network System (IHANS), on the Health Commerce System (HCS).  Additional COVID-19 resources may be found on the NYSDOH webpage under Information for Healthcare Providers.

COVID-19 EMOTIONAL SUPPORT HELPLINE 1-844-863-9314 Open 8 AM - 10 PM, 7 days a week

The Office of Mental Health has implemented the COVID-19 EMOTIONAL SUPPORT HELPLINE 1-844-863-9314, with an option for callers to indicate they are healthcare worker and/or first responder and will be linked directly to specialized volunteers trained to offer help and support with feelings of anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, and grief. The helpline is open 8 AM - 10 PM, 7 days a week. Attached is a poster that can be displayed in your facility.

NYSHFA/NYSCAL Workforce Issues Audio Conference

NYSHFA/NYSCAL will be hosting an audio conference call on Tuesday April 7, 2020 at 2:00pm to review the Training and Certification of Nurse Aides waiver. Recommendations and practical strategies for implementation at your facility will be shared including review of competency and supervision.  Pamela Truscott, MSN, RN, Senior Manager, Clinical and Regulatory Services at American Health Care Association will be joining us on this call to provide instructions on accessing the 1 hour Paid Feeding Assistant program and the 8 hour online Temporary Nurse Aide training program.
