IPRO COVID-19 SNF Workshop Series Begins Thursday, May 7!

Nancy Leveille and Jackie Pappalardi in Clinical & Quality

IPRO is committed to helping NYSFHA-NYSCAL members provide the best care for your residents, a task even more challenging due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

IPRO invites you to a weekly workshop series to examine strategies that will help you address some of the real challenges you’re dealing with in your day-to-day work.

The series will be held on Thursdays, 10:30-11:30am, beginning May 7. The first webinar focuses on communication skills in light of COVID-19.

Dr. Patricia Bomba will  present the first webinar, Crucial Elements of End-of-life Conversations, on May 7.  At the end of this session, attendees will be able to apply:

  • Principles of humanitarianism: save lives and prevent/alleviate human suffering
  • The process for having honest, compassionate conversations that result in medical orders that clarify resuscitation, respiratory support, and hospitalization preferences and a resident-centered care plan
  • Effective communication skills and self-care strategies with residents, family, caregivers and staff
